Our Yacht

Sparkling Spirit is a well equipped and comfortable Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43, with berths for up to 8 in 3 twin and one bunk cabin.

She is coded to MCA Cat 2 ( up to 60 miles from a safe haven)

 

On deck

She has a furling genoa and conventional slab reefed main with lazy jacks and single line reefing led back to the cockpit. New standing rigging fitted in 2021. New Profurl genoa furling system for 2023

New equipment includes a 1500w windlass, a 27kg Manson anchor and 80m of 10mm chain.

A snubber and marker buoy/ tripping line are also provided. All lines are laid aft to the cockpit where 6 Harken winches await.

Numerous mooring lines, fenders and also fender boards are provided.

The tender is a 3.2m Quicksilver RIB with a 3.5hp Tohatsu outboard, both new 2019.

Spray hood and full cockpit tent, effectively providing another room.

Engine and power

60hp Volvo MD22 with fixed three bladed prop.

Electric Lewmar 5kw bow thruster with dedicated batteries.

12v system

Batteries 3  x 120Ah batteries domestic, 1 120Ah engine and 2 x 110Ah dedicated to the thruster and windlass. 3 solar panels and a rutland wind charger will reduce you reliance on engine charging.

Tankage

1 x 200l diesel tank and 2 fresh water tanks giving a useable capacity of approx. 370 litres. An additional emergency supply of fresh water is also provided.

Navigation

A full set of Admiralty paper charts and other nautical publications is provided for the sailing area. The modern electronics package installed in late 2019 includes; Two Raymarine Axiom plotters with Navionics charts and a Quantum radar are complemented by a fully integrated AIS transceiver. 

Communications

An Icom M330 VHF with DSC is supplemented by an Icom handheld.

Comfort

For the 2022 season a new Webasto heating system has been fitted, with outlets to all cabins. Hot water is available heated either from shore power or by running the engine.

The saloon has a large U shaped seating area with a large table and has a couch ahead of the chart table opposite. A 12v TV with DVD player is mounted in the saloon along with an audio system with an aux input located at the chart table.

In the galley you'll find a large fridge along with a two burner Eno cooker with oven and a good selection of pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glasses.

A full set of bedding and towels is provided. There are four cabins and two heads, both with showers, the aft one being equipped with an electric head and a holding tank.

Safety

All safety equipment has either recently been replaced or upgraded/serviced and all equipment meets or exceeds MCA coding requirements. Lifejackets are all Crewsaver automatic and all are equipped with spray hoods. An epirb and 12 man life raft are also onboard.

New for 2024 Sparkling Spirit will be sporting a new Saunders Sails Genoa
